Updated 26th February, 2025

Franchise Spotlight Conversations is a short online chat with Katie Stickley from Did Teach and a Franchise we work closely with.

It’s an opportunity to hear directly from the Franchisor about what they love about their business. It’s also a chance for you, the teacher, to get a feel for the franchise, is it a good fit for you, do you want to know more?

In this episode, Katie chats with Karen Gibb Founder of Mind Marvels to find out about the work they do in schools empowering children to find inner calm.

Karen discusses her franchise model and why this is a great fit for teachers who are looking to run their own business with the support of a proven model.

Are you an ambitious entrepreneur ready for your next rewarding challenge?

About Mind Marvels

Mind Marvels is an award-winning franchise created by Karen Gibb. Karen is a fully qualified teacher and has prior experience in youth development and early years education.

Karen taught young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs and pupils with severe and complex additional support needs, including autism and ADHD.

Through her work, Karen saw the benefits for children when they were taught practical ways to support their own emotional wellbeing but that many did not know how to support themselves.

“As an anxious youngster myself, I now make a direct, positive impact on children and their emotional wellbeing.”

Mind Marvels give children calming tools and practical strategies to understand their own emotions to feel more confident, build resilience and learn skills for life.

Mind Marvels has franchised the business and we have an amazing team of inspiring franchisees delivering wellbeing sessions across the UK.

Those Who Can – Thoughts

Karen set up her business from a really good place, from speaking to Karen it’s clear that her core values are embedded in this business: Always Be Kind, Make A Difference Every Day and Educate with Empathy. I know that teachers all over the world probably went into the profession because they hold these values dear.

This is why I think Mind Marvels is a great choice for teachers who want to set up their own business as it aligns so well with their own beliefs.

Karen discusses some of the pitfalls of starting a business from scratch without any prior experience and how she is looking for entrepreneurs who resonate with the Mind Marvel ethos.

Staying true to her nature as a teacher, Karen has created a bespoke training package for franchisees that focuses on how to sell to schools and where key funding can be found to help support schools and their students with their wellbeing initiatives.

On the whole, Mind Marvels is a considered and considerate franchise model, Karen and her team welcome insight and input from their franchisees and they very much work like a community. This is great news for those teachers who enjoy a bit more autonomy and want to shape a business not just be a cog in the wheel.

Do watch the video and get in contact with Karen if you feel Mind Marvels is a viable children’s franchise for you.
