Success Stories From Our Network
We asked our franchisors to share their franchisee success stories, so we can get a clever idea of the recipe for success. Thank you to The Outdoor Project, The Sleep Nanny and Nature Makers for sharing your insights:

Mel – The Outdoor Project
After many years teaching Mel launched the Outdoors Project Cirencester in Summer 2023. Mel wanted to use her teaching experience and passion for the Outdoors in a new venture but was nervous about starting a business. Having the Outdoors Project HQ Team beside her as she launched her clubs was the perfect combination of Mel’s infectious enthusiasm for running clubs and the franchise support expertise in marketing, operations and business administration.
The first thing that strikes you when meeting Mel is her boundless energy. You can’t help wanting to get outside and start playing games after chatting with Mel. As she says, after spending her childhood outside in parks, on local beaches and on the athletics track – it’s in her blood to do this. It quickly became apparent that Mel’s ability to execute amazing clubs, combined with our experience in launching new businesses would be a winning combination.
Since the launch of her Holiday Clubs Mel has diversified her business to include several after-school clubs, a thriving birthday party business and regular workshops in schools in her local area.
The workshops in particular have proved to be an excellent income generator, with several local schools using Mel’s services for ADHD children in their school, helping them address behavioural issues through spending time outside. Mel’s results from this have proved she not only can offer fantastic Holiday Clubs for the community but also offers a valuable and important service to families in her territory.
What can other franchisees learn from this individual?
What other new franchisees can learn from Mel, is that although you need to trust in the franchise model you are buying into, you should both bring your own style to your business and also to be flexible in your approach. Mel had the right mix of someone who was prepared to listen and learn from both HQ and other franchisees, but also to think differently and adapt what we had to her personal situation and skills.
Franchising isn’t a straightforward business or employee model. The franchisor needs someone who is prepared to be the ‘face of the brand’ and follow our business plan, but at the same time has their own ingenuity and recognition that they need to think independently about how to make the brand a success in their local area.
Our job as the franchisor is to help create and enable this path, but it is not always an easy one to navigate. After 12 months Mel is doing an excellent job of it.

Kath – The Sleep Nanny Franchisee
Kath always goes the extra mile for her families, and for her business. She pushes through her own comfort zone and is always willing to learn and look for ways to uplevel herself and therefore consistently delivers a superior service to the families she works with.
Kath consistently applies herself in all areas of business, takes the tools and training we give her and she utilises them to the best of her ability.
What can other franchisees learn from this individual?
Resilience and consistency. Kath is a very coachable person, who is open to change and prepared to put in the work and therefore she always gets excellent results.

Ruth – Nature Makers Franchisee
Ruth who runs Nature Makers Coventry started last September and has already expanded her territory and recruited additional Freelancers as her business expands into multiple revenue streams including preschool classes and events, holiday events, parties and school contracts.
Ruth has done incredibly well due to her hard work and determination. Utilising all of the resources and support available and reaching out for help when needed.
She has remained focused on her long-term strategy, seeking feedback and adapting to economic conditions and changes in the market which has seen her hit goals that she has set for herself around turnover and non-financial successes such as time with her children.
What can other franchisees learn from this individual?
Focus on your long-term strategy for success. What does success mean to you, what do you want to achieve, and how do you plan to achieve it? Seek out help from your Franchise and other support available and work hard to achieve the results.
