As I reflect on my career as a Headteacher, I am filled with gratitude for the countless experiences and relationships that shaped my professional journey. After dedicating many fulfilling years to education, I made the bold decision to unofficially retire on my 55th birthday and embark on a new adventure that combines my passions for writing, helping families, public speaking, and even singing!
A Passion For Education
My years as a Headteacher were not just about managing a school; they were about nurturing young minds, building a supportive community, and fostering a love for learning among students and families alike. I cherished every moment spent in the classroom, every parent-teacher meeting, and every school event. Education was not just a job for me; it was a calling.
However, as I approached retirement, I felt a yearning for something different, something that would allow me to continue making an impact, but in a new and exciting way. That’s when I decided to take the leap and start my own business.
Building Inspired Practice LTD
Inspired Practice Ltd became my new venture, a platform where I could integrate all the things I love. With my background in education, I wanted to ensure that my business remained deeply rooted in supporting families and providing valuable resources. It was important for me to create a space where I could share my knowledge, connect with others, and facilitate growth. I still enjoy lots of consultancy work within education and I also took a leap of faith and qualified as a Funeral Celebrant.
One of my proudest achievements has been developing a comprehensive two-day course for aspiring Funeral Celebrants. This course is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in this rewarding role. I understand the nuances of working in schools, and I’ve tailored the course to accommodate busy schedules, allowing participants to learn at their own pace.
The Role Of A Funeral Celebrant
Becoming a qualified Funeral Celebrant has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my new career. It’s a role that allows me to support families during some of their most challenging moments, helping them celebrate the lives of their loved ones with compassion and dignity. I’ve found that my background in education—particularly my experience in public speaking—has equipped me with the tools to guide families through the process and create meaningful ceremonies.
I’ve also been able to incorporate my love for singing into these celebrations, offering a personal touch that resonates deeply with families.
A New Chapter Of Sharing Knowledge
As I dive deeper into this new chapter, I am excited about the opportunity to train others who wish to become Funeral Celebrants. My course is designed not only to impart essential skills but also to foster a sense of community among participants. I believe that by sharing my experiences and insights, I can help others find their own paths in this meaningful profession.
At Inspired Practice Ltd, I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all. Whether you are a seasoned professional looking to enhance your skill set or someone entirely new to the field, I welcome you to join me on this journey. I am also an experienced Coach and would support you through the working practices.
