About TechyTots
“TechyTots was first established in June 2017 and is one of the first classes in the uk to bring together technology and play to introduce children to coding. Our aim is to work on the first steps of coding with children at a young age to help prepare them for the technical world we now live in whilst making it fun. Simply put ‘Coding’ is a set of instructions for a computer or device. At TechyTots we encourage children to develop early coding skills by using robots and the most advanced ‘Techy’ toys available. We also use unplugged play and activities which encourage problem solving skills, critical thinking, sequencing, early maths skills and early programming, which are not only educational but lots of fun too!”
Those Who Can – Thoughts
It was refreshing to hear that you can run TechyTots whilst still teaching and they have just signed a new teacher as a franchisee who is really enjoying her experience. Julie has been supporting her with social media training and marketing as you can imagine, this teacher is very comfortable leading a session.
One aspect we love about TechyTots is they actively work in school in a variety of ways. As a franchisee, you can run before-school and after-school sessions as well as school enrichment days. There is also the option to run sessions for the Scout and Guide Associations and new for this year…birthday parties. Teachers can shape this business around their own lives.
Julie says the most important aspect of taking on a TechyTots franchise is a love of working with children, all the training on coding is provided and you can take on a franchise with zero coding experience.
All lesson plans are provided and TechyTots works with curriculum advisors to create the schemes of learning and make sure they are in line with the National Curriculum, however, there is freedom to adapt lesson plans to suit your needs and the needs of the students.
Techytots use themes throughout the year to ensure their content is diverse and up-to-date, this is great for teachers who crave a bit of variety in the classroom.
Do watch the video and get in contact with Julie if you feel Techytots is a viable children’s franchise for you.
