Want To Join A Close-Knit Franchise Community After Teaching? Look No Further Than Travel Counsellors
When you’re used to the buzz of a classroom, the prospect of working from home as a self-employed franchisee can be daunting. However, here at Travel Counsellors, you won’t ever feel alone, or like you’re missing out on those important personal interactions.
Here are just some of the ways in which you can take advantage of the social side of Travel Counsellors.
Training
Not only is our onboarding programme and ongoing training a great opportunity to learn, it’s also the perfect chance to make friends. Many of our Travel Counsellors forge lifelong friendships with their induction cohort, particularly our Travel Academy new-starters who are all in the same boat from the perspective of not having a background in the travel industry.
From WhatsApp groups to ‘wine Wednesdays’, you’ll feel connected with your fellow newbies right from the get-go.
But don’t just take our word for it. Hear from Ben and Mairead, who came through our Travel Academy, about what they think of our kind, supportive, and inclusive community: Meet Ben and Mairead
Trips Away
Thanks to our unrivalled relationships with suppliers, we offer regular FAM and incentive trips throughout the year – either as a reward for hitting certain criteria or simply just so you can experience a product or destination yourself to be able to better sell it to your customers.
In addition, we also host our prestigious Gold Weekends every year to celebrate our best-performing franchisees.
These trips are a fantastic way to meet fellow business owners and share unforgettable travel experiences together.
Our Annual Conference
Our flagship annual conference is without doubt the main event that our Travel Counsellors look forward to. Held over three days, it brings franchisees, Support Hub colleagues, and our suppliers together for a weekend of insightful seminar sessions, workshops, and opportunities to network – not forgetting our star-studded party evenings, including our gala dinner and awards ceremony.

Family Days
When we say Travel Counsellors has a family feel, we genuinely do mean it – and that’s why our care extends to our franchisees’ nearest and dearest. Each year, we host at least one family day where our community can bring their families along for a fun-filled outing. Previous events have included cruise ship visits, as well as trips to the likes of Drayton Manor, Chester Zoo, and Alton Towers.
Tune Into TCTV
Did you know that we have our very own TV studio at our Manchester Support Hub!? When you join our community, you can tune into regular broadcasts including our main TCTV show which goes live every Wednesday morning. You can ask questions and chat to other members of the community in real-time while watching – and there’s always plenty of banter to keep you entertained! It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a cuppa and find out all the latest updates from the business.
Attend A Virtual Coffee Morning
To help keep our community connected, we put on regular virtual coffee mornings – either hosted by a Travel Counsellor or one of our Support Hub colleagues. There’s no pressure to join, but they’re a chance to laugh together, cry together, and make friends. Some of our coffee mornings have been incredibly emotional, and they’re a safe space to share anything you need our support with – whether that’s personal or professional.
