English Curriculum Digital Coordinator
Literacy Counts is a growing, award-winning education company specialising in the development of high-quality English curriculum resources, professional development and support for schools. As our product portfolio continues to expand, we are looking for an exceptional English Curriculum Digital Coordinator to join our dynamic Product team based at our Chester office.
We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of the English curriculum and its teaching, who is also curious about how digital innovation can make teaching better, easier and more effective. Your focus will be entirely on educational quality and design rather than technical architecture. You might currently be an English subject leader, member of a senior leadership team or an educational consultant who loves thinking about how English is taught and is ready for a new challenge beyond the classroom and school.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Product and Product team, you will support the continued development and innovation of Literacy Counts’ digital English curriculum resources. You will take agreed product ideas and help move them from concept through development, testing, refinement and implementation, ensuring that educational quality remains at the heart of everything we produce.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum & Pedagogy: Ensure that the development of digital Ready Steady Literacy products remains educationally rigorous, age-appropriate and grounded in effective classroom practice.
- Digital Product Coordination: Translate educational ideas into clear specifications and development priorities, working closely with the team to communicate requirements.
- Testing & School Engagement: Coordinate pilots and trials with selected schools, working directly with teachers and leaders to gather feedback and inform subsequent product versions.
- Quality Assurance: Test new developments thoroughly before wider release, reviewing outputs for educational accuracy, curriculum appropriateness and usability.
- Project Management: Maintain clear development plans, timelines and actions, providing regular progress updates to the Head of Product.
Essential Criteria
- A minimum of 5 years of dedicated school leadership experience, with a proven track record in curriculum design, English subject leadership or significant strategic responsibility for English within an educational organisation.
- Deep knowledge of effective pedagogy, assessment and progression in reading, writing, spelling and grammar.
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple Key Stages.
- A strong interest in digital innovation and how technology can improve teacher workload and classroom practice.
- Excellent project coordination and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate complex educational requirements clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the proven ability to work independently, take complete ownership of projects and drive delivery.
