About the role 

Dates: Course dates between end of June and end of August 2026

Pay: £32-£55 per hour, depending on subject expertise and teaching experience

Additional Benefits: Enhanced DBS provided (if required). Note – accommodation and travel expenses not covered.

Working pattern: 18 hours of seminars and up to 8 hours of tutorials across 2 weeks. Teaching takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. 3-4 hour preparation allowance, depending on class size. 

Reports to: Study Coordinator

We’re looking for enthusiastic tutors to deliver engaging seminar-style courses to small groups of students  during summer 2026. You’ll design and teach your own curriculum across a 2-week course, fostering a positive classroom environment where students feel challenged and supported. 

Main duties 

About you 

You’re passionate about your subject and bring creativity and flexibility to lesson planning, adapting to diverse learning styles and classroom dynamics. You’re committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels valued and can succeed, and you maintain a strong awareness of safeguarding to ensure a safe and supportive learning space for all young people.

Essential 

  • Possess a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Experience teaching or working with young people in an academic setting.
  • Interactive, engaging, and inclusive teaching practice.
  • Friendly and professional communications with students and staff.
  • Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role).

Desirable 

  • Experience working with international students and non-native speakers.
  • Experience working in academic summer schools.
  • Experience designing your own syllabi and lesson plans.
