A Teachers Guide To Kidslingo

Updated 26th February, 2025

Franchise Spotlight Conversations is a short online chat between Katie Stickley Co-Founder of Those Who Can and a Franchise we work with.

It’s a great opportunity to hear directly from the Franchisor about what they love about the business they created.

It’s also a chance for you, the teacher, to get a feel for the franchise, is it a good fit for you, do you want to know more?

In this episode, Katie talks with Anna Neville the award-winning CEO of Kidslingo, who explains how you can run your own business doing something you love, whilst using the skills you’ve honed in the classroom.

About Kidslingo – Spanish & French Skills For Life

Kidslingo’s aim is to inspire young children, from birth to 11 years, to love languages from the very start of their language-learning journey.

Working in schools (curriculum classes and clubs) , nurseries, community venues, private homes and online, Kidslingo is passionate about exposing children to languages from a young age.

It’s multi-award-winning, CAA gold-accredited language programme uses a fun and interactive methodology utilising songs, actions, rhymes, game play, storytelling and drama, all delivered by expert linguists.

Each week, Kidslingo is privileged to witness thousands of little ones enthusiastically embracing Spanish and French, whilst developing amazing linguistic skills.

Learning a new language provides young children with a range of cognitive, social, and emotional benefits that contribute to their overall mental health and well-being.

Those Who Can – Thoughts

‘Fun’ was the buzzword throughout our chat and you can tell how much Anna relishes the business she has created. What’s special about a Kidslingo franchise is that it’s so much more than teaching languages, Anna spoke about music, drama, signing, and PHSE working in harmony with language education.

Kidslingo is a perfect fit for teachers, as the majority of their sessions are run in a school or nursery, so a very familiar and comfortable setting for you. Kidslingo sessions are highly educational and linked to the curriculum, so you are very much ticking that ‘teaching’ box and staying true to why you went into the profession in the first place.

What I loved about speaking to Anna is the sense of pride she has with her franchisees, it was refreshing to hear that franchisees can adapt and play around with the session content, helping it fit with your style or the needs of the children you’re working with. After 11 years in the business, you can only imagine the wealth of resources and session plans available, so you have the choice to use existing material or adapt to your needs.

Anna spoke about franchisees updating content to make it relevant and sharing this amongst the team. This focus on learning from each other permeates through the business, teachers regularly share best practice and act as sounding blocks for each other. This sounds like the best MFL department to me! Therefore Kidslingo, under the leadership of Anna is curating passionate franchisees, that want to make a difference and running a franchise in such a sharing environment doesn’t seem like hard work:

Passion shines through, everything else follows suit”

If you are a teacher with language skills and you are looking for a new challenge whilst staying true to the reasons you went into teaching, Kidslingo could be the perfect fit for you. Anna’s team know the hard work that goes into setting up a business and they will support you on this journey connecting you to other teachers who have already made the leap.
