Alternative Provision Programme Lead
Bath City Farm are recruiting for the role of Programme Lead for our Alternative Provision Programme, Wild Acres. This is a rewarding, creative and purposeful alternative education role responsible for both overseeing and contributing to the delivery of this programme. Wild Acres makes it possible for children and young people across Bath and North-East Somerset to engage with farming and nature across the 37 acres of our site as part of their learning and mental health support.
Line-managing a team of two other session leaders while also delivering sessions through the week, you will be engaging children aged 4-18 in a wide variety of outdoor learning activities including animal care, crafting, mindfulness, gardening, cooking, woodwork, and conservation tasks. With food growing spaces, animal pens, ponds, grassland, wildflower meadows and woodland, there are endless opportunities to have a child-centred approach and engage pupils in the way that fits them.
A small number of pupils will undertake a City & Guilds qualification in Land-Based Skills each year. Your role will involve working with pupils directly and ensuring high-quality delivery from the whole team. In order to financially sustain the Wild Acres Programme, you will also work with the Programme Manager to understand the budget and to ensure that there is a full timetable of participation.
We are looking for an experienced, creative, organised and nurturing individual with proven skills in education, animal care and outdoor learning who is passionate about supporting children to realise their potential.

The environmental and agricultural sectors are amongst the least diverse nationally. The Farm is keen to improve the diversity and representation of its staff and reduce barriers to entry into paid roles within the organisation. Our staff team already represent a diverse group of people but ethnically we recognise the staff team is not as diverse as we would like. Therefore, we will offer an interview to any applicants from ethnically diverse backgrounds who meet the essential criteria of the role. We are also part of the Disability Confident Scheme and as such will guarantee an interview to all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for this role.
