We are expanding to add both CIE IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE Lang and Lit. Join us for flexible, freelance work giving feedback to students.
GCSEWriting Teacher
At GCSEWriting, our mission is to raise writing standards across the country. Recognising the burden classroom teachers are often under, we’ve developed a platform to give English GCSE students more teacher feedback on their writing. Private school students tend to achieve higher grades partly because they can pay for extra feedback—something many state school students miss out on. This platform helps bridge that gap by making high-quality feedback widely accessible.
We are looking for current examiners (generally former or part-time teachers) to provide GCSE essay feedback. The role is fully flexible—you can mark whenever it suits you.
We are expanding to add the Edexcel IGCSE and Cambridge IGCSE exam boards. If you examine for one of these boards, whether in English Language or Literature, we would love to hear from you!
The Role
After we meet with you and show you how to use the platform, you will be given a login that allows you to provide feedback on GCSE English essays whenever it’s convenient for you.
Requirements:
• Experience teaching and examining CIE or Edexcel IGCSE English Language or Lit
• At least 10 hours available per week to lend to this project
• DBS checked
• Passionate about student feedback
Pay:
• Teachers can expect to earn £20–£25 per hour, with work provided for you—no need to source students yourself.
