We’re Hiring: Outdoor Tutors, Activity Staff & Teachers

At Adventure Pirate, we’re looking for passionate, reliable, and inspiring individuals to join our team delivering outdoor alternative education to young people who need a different approach.

About Us

We are an official BCP Council Alternative Provision provider, delivering trauma-informed outdoor education for young people aged 7–18.

Based in our woodland site in Lytchett Minster, we specialise in working with students with:

SEMH needs

Autism & ADHD

School avoidance

Trauma and attachment needs

We’ve been recognised as one of the most advantageous alternative provisions in the area and it’s our people who make that possible.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re building a flexible team of:

Qualified teachers

Tutors (English/Maths/Functional Skills)

Outdoor instructors

Youth workers / support staff

Adventure professionals

If you have a background in education, outdoor activities, or youth work we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing:

No two days are the same. You could be:

Supporting small groups or 1:1 learners in outdoor settings

Delivering hands-on learning through activities like:

Bushcraft & fire lighting.

Archery & target sports.

Tree climbing & adventure challenges.

Shelter building & survival skills.

Embedding maths, literacy, and life skills into real-world experiences.

Building strong, positive relationships with young people.

Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.

Working as part of a trauma-informed, child-centred team.

Helping young people re-engage with education and rebuild confidence.

What Matters Most

We’re not just looking for qualifications, we’re looking for the right people.

You’ll need to be:

Calm, patient, and adaptable

Confident working with children with additional needs

Positive, energetic, and hands-on

Able to build trust and rapport quickly

A team player with a sense of humour

Experience with SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision is a big plus.
